Chintaphu Trek – A Soulful Walk Along the India-Nepal Border
In April 2025, ‘Travel With Susmita’ successfully completed yet another enriching expedition—the Chintaphu Trek, an 8-day cross-border journey along the serene Himalayan ridgeline between India and Nepal.
This trek, timed perfectly with the rhododendron blooming season, offered a magical spectacle of red, pink, and white blossoms lining the forest trails. Our small group trekked from Joubari to Jamuna, Maimazua, and up to the summit point of Chintaphu. The Chintaphu top offers breathtaking panoramic views of Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and even Mt. Everest.
But this journey wasn’t just about landscapes—it was about connection. Our travellers stayed in cosy village homestays. Savoured traditional mountain meals and immersed themselves in the heartwarming culture of remote Himalayan communities. From misty forest trails and sacred lakes to unforgettable sunrises, every moment was both peaceful and powerful.
The project aimed to empower local communities, reflecting our commitment to sustainable tourism. We hired local staff, and the team stayed in homes managed by villagers. This ensured that our team members were well cared for throughout the journey. The local community proudly participated in the entire project, and their joy added even more significance to our experience..
Led by our Chief Project Leader, Anindya Mukherjee—renowned explorer and mountaineer—the trek was executed with the highest levels of safety, sustainability, and care. It was a perfect introduction to Himalayan trekking for families and beginners alike.
Don’t just read about it—experience it. Book your Chintaphu Trek Now and rediscover adventure at its most soulful.
