  • Day 5: Petra Back Route Hike to El Deir

Petra is a vast and ancient city with several trails to explore. Today, we will take the back route from Little Petra to the Monastery El Deir. The hike begins at Little Petra and passes by the remains of the Neolithic village Beidah. We will then walk across open farmland before entering a mountainous area. As the path opens up, we will see the impressive façade of the Monastery El Deir, which is 45 meters high and cut into the sandstone rock. We will then follow around 800 stairs down to the lower parts of Petra, where we will recognise the main trail ending at the main gate. The hike is moderate and takes approximately 4 hours to reach the Monastery. Once we complete the hike, we will stay overnight at your hotel in Petra.

    Meals: Breakfast and Lunch Bag.

  • Day 6: Petra High Place & Wadi Farasa 6 Hours Hike – Wadi Rum Camp

Wake up early for another adventure in Petra. With the help of your guide, you will pass by the Obelisk Tomb and the Triclinium before heading to the Al Madras area. After a steep ascent and some scrambling, you will reach a viewpoint that will allow you to see the Treasury from above. From there, you can continue to the High Place of Sacrifice, a spot that was used for religious ceremonies. After a short rest, turn right and head to Wadi Farasa. While descending, you can walk past the Lion Relief, the Roman Soldier Tomb and the Garden Temple. Near Qasr Al Bint, you will reach the regular trail again and return through the Siq to the main gate of Petra. In the afternoon, you will drive for 1.5 hours to your campsite in Wadi Rum.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Bag and Dinner.

  • Day 7: Hike to Jabal Um Adami (1,854 meters) - Wadi Rum Camp

After enjoying breakfast, we’ll hop onto a 4×4 vehicle and drive about 40 kilometres through the southern desert to Jabal Um Adami, which is the highest mountain in Jordan and is located right on the border with Saudi Arabia. With the help of your Bedouin guide, we’ll hike and scramble to the top of the mountain, which is not a difficult task and doesn’t require any ropes. However, it’s important to have a good level of fitness and sure-footedness. The hike usually takes about 2.5 hours. Once we reach the height of 1,854 meters, you’ll be rewarded with magnificent views of Saudi Arabia to the south and Wadi Rum to the north. After the hike, we’ll have lunch and take some rest. Later, we’ll cross Wadi Sabet, which is a remote and beautiful valley. After one and a half to two hours of driving, we’ll be back at the campsite in the stunning Wadi Rum desert, where we’ll spend another night.

Meals: Breakfast, Picnic Lunch and Dinner.

  • Day 8: Wadi Rum 3 hours jeep ride – Amman Hotel

After hopping into a 4×4 vehicle, you can explore more of the vast desert with the help of your Bedouin driver. The drive from the peaceful desert to the busy capital of Amman is quite long, taking around four hours. You can relax in the car during the drive and, upon arrival, check into your hotel.
